St. Paul, Minnesota, United States, March 2025 – American Engineering Testing, Inc. (AET) has announced the promotion of Dee Powers to Chief People Officer (CPO). In her new role, Dee will be responsible for shaping AET’s people strategy, driving employee engagement, and overseeing the HR, Marketing, and Communications functions.
Prior to her promotion, Dee Powers served as Vice President of Human Resources at AET for two and a half years, where she played a crucial role in leading strategic HR initiatives, talent management, and cultural transformation.
Before joining AET, she held key HR leadership positions at Sun Country Airlines, including Vice President of Human Resources and Senior Director of HR/Talent, where she was instrumental in fostering a high-performance culture and streamlining organizational development programs.
Earlier in her career, Dee was the Director of Human Resources at Arctic Cat, overseeing HR strategies that aligned with the company’s growth initiatives. She also spent eight years at Delta Air Lines, where she served as GM IT Procurement, leading contract negotiations and cost-containment initiatives. Prior to Delta, she held multiple leadership roles at Northwest Airlines, including Director of Human Resources, where she led major workforce transformations, labor relations, and change management efforts during the company’s merger with Delta.
Dee’s career also includes significant experience in procurement and operations, having served as Director of Strategic Contracting and Director of Technical Operations/Aircraft Component Support Shops at Northwest Airlines. She began her career in human resources and operations leadership at the Minnesota Air National Guard/USAF, where she worked in recruiting and retention.
