Oakland, California, United States, July 2025 – Elizabeth Calmeyer has been promoted to Vice President, People and Culture at College Track, a leading nonprofit dedicated to supporting first-generation college students through high school, college, and into their professional careers. Elizabeth’s journey at College Track spans more than five years. Most recently, she served as Interim Vice President, People and Culture, where she led a large-scale hiring and onboarding initiative involving over 180 staff during a critical organizational restructuring. Prior to this, she was Director of Talent Management, where she oversaw a transformative compensation overhaul and played a key leadership role during the Chief People Officer’s absence.

Previously, she held the roles of Director and Interim Director of Talent Acquisition, where she cut “time to hire” by more than half and enhanced the candidate and hiring manager experience through systems redesign, streamlined processes, and equitable hiring practices.

Before joining College Track, Elizabeth was Senior Manager of Recruiting Strategy & Operations at Playworks and Manager of Operations and Talent at The Education Trust–West, where she led recruitment, onboarding, and culture-building efforts, while also implementing systems like Asana and launching DEI training initiatives. Earlier roles include Resource Manager and Operations Analyst at MDRC, where she managed multi-million-dollar project budgets and led performance and communication improvements.

Elizabeth’s career spans education, nonprofit, and advocacy work, including earlier leadership roles at Kasina Youth Foundation, Green Corps, Work for Progress, and the Fund for the Public Interest, building expertise in recruiting, people systems, change management, DEI strategy, and employee engagement.

About College Track:

College Track is a comprehensive, 10-year college completion program that equips first-generation students from low-income communities to earn a bachelor’s degree and achieve upward social mobility. Founded in 1997, the organization now serves over 3,800 scholars and 952 alumni through 12 centers across the United States. With a strong focus on removing academic, financial, and social-emotional barriers, College Track empowers its scholars to thrive in college and beyond—transforming generational trajectories through education.
