Nishan Thankappa Joins UKG as Head of Talent Acquisition – India

India, October 2025 – Nishan Thankappa has joined UKG as the Head of Talent Acquisition – India, where he will lead recruitment strategies to strengthen the company’s workforce in one of its most dynamic markets. At UKG, he will focus on advancing the company’s people-first mission by driving innovative hiring strategies, building diverse talent pipelines, and aligning recruitment with UKG’s growth vision.

Nishan Thankappa joins UKG after serving as Senior Director, Talent Acquisition – APJ at OpenText for nearly seven years. At OpenText, he was instrumental in leading large-scale hiring across Asia Pacific and Japan, supporting a workforce of 25,000 employees across 180 countries. His leadership contributed significantly to OpenText’s reputation as one of the world’s best companies to work for, with notable recognition in areas like diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement.

Before that, Nishan held the role of Director, Talent Acquisition – APAC at Kronos Incorporated, where he built high-impact recruiting strategies across product, technology, cloud, services, sales, and corporate functions. His work focused on employer branding, candidate experience, stakeholder engagement, and university relations, making Kronos a preferred employer across the region.

Earlier, he spent nearly five years at Adobe as Global Talent Selection India Head for Worldwide Field Operations, IT, and Corporate Functions. In this role, he led critical builds, including the creation of Adobe’s Global Delivery Center consulting team, and spearheaded leadership and executive hiring across multiple verticals.

Nishan began his career at Genpact, where he spent more than nine years in talent acquisition leadership roles, overseeing vertical hiring, client relationship management, referral systems, and satellite hiring locations. His tenure at Genpact provided him with deep expertise in scaling recruitment functions and building strong teams across industries.
