New York City, New York, United States, July 2026 — Mimecast has appointed Ranjan S. as its Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board, marking a significant leadership milestone as the cybersecurity company enters its next phase of platform innovation and growth.
Ranjan succeeds Marc van Zadelhoff, who will continue supporting Mimecast as a Board Advisor after leading the company’s evolution from an email security provider into a comprehensive platform addressing human, data, and AI risk.
Having joined Mimecast in 2025 as Chief Product and Technology Officer, Ranjan led the company’s product management and engineering organisations during a period of rapid platform innovation. He played a pivotal role in accelerating Mimecast’s technology strategy, expanding its AI capabilities, strengthening its unified security platform, and driving product innovation to support customers navigating an increasingly complex cybersecurity landscape.
Prior to joining Mimecast, Ranjan served as Chief Product Officer at Kaseya, where he led the company’s global product strategy, innovation, and product portfolio for one of the world’s leading providers of IT management and cybersecurity solutions.
Earlier, he was Executive Vice President – Product and Technology at Crestron Electronics, where he led a global organisation of more than 600 product management and engineering professionals. During his tenure, he transformed the company’s product strategy, accelerated its transition from hardware to SaaS platforms and subscription services, launched multiple award-winning products, and established a recurring revenue business model.
Before that, Ranjan spent nearly a decade at IPC Systems, holding several senior leadership positions including Global Head of Product and Technology – Cloud Services, Vice President – Product Management, Vice President – Enterprise Architecture, Systems and Applications, and Director of Software. He played a central role in transforming the company’s communications platforms, expanding its cloud business, launching industry-leading SaaS solutions, and driving digital transformation across global capital markets.
Earlier in his career, Ranjan held engineering and technology leadership roles at Dialogic, Intel Corporation, and Signal Processing Associates (now part of Analog Devices), where he built deep expertise in software engineering, digital signal processing, communications technology, cloud platforms, and enterprise software architecture. These experiences laid the foundation for a leadership career spanning more than three decades across enterprise software, cybersecurity, cloud computing, AI, communications technology, and product innovation.
With extensive experience leading global product organisations, scaling technology platforms, driving SaaS transformation, and building AI-enabled enterprise solutions, Ranjan is well positioned to lead Mimecast as it continues expanding its unified platform for securing people, data, and AI-powered work.
