Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, June 2026 – ZEE5 has appointed Tejkarran Singh Bajaj as Business Head – ZEE5 India, marking a significant leadership addition as the platform continues to strengthen its position in India’s highly competitive digital entertainment landscape.
The appointment also marks a meaningful return for Tejkarran, who was closely associated with ZEE5 during its formative years as part of the founding leadership team and played an instrumental role in shaping the platform’s early content strategy. In his new role, he will lead ZEE5 India’s platform strategy and drive growth across content, consumer engagement, monetisation, partnerships, and the broader digital ecosystem. He will also spearhead innovation initiatives, including AI-led transformation across the platform.
Tejkarran Singh Bajaj joins ZEE5 from Reliance Industries Limited, where he most recently served as SVP & Head – Originals at Jio Studios. Over nearly eight years with the organization, including his earlier role as Head – Originals, he led the creative, commercial, and strategic direction of the Originals business across genres, languages, and platforms. Under his leadership, Jio Studios developed and scaled a robust content engine, delivering more than 50 original shows including Inspector Avinash, Doctors, Apharan 2, Code M 2, Bajao, Magic of Shiri, and several upcoming marquee titles. He also represented Jio Studios at leading global forums including the ATF Singapore, Asian Academy Creative Awards, GITEX Dubai, and the Emmy Awards.
Prior to Jio Studios, Tejkarran served as Head – Original Content, ZEE5 India, where he played a foundational role in building the platform’s original content ecosystem. During his tenure, he led content strategy, development, and execution across six languages and built a 20-member cross-functional creative and production team. He commissioned and launched more than 25 original titles including Karenjit Kaur, Rangbaaz, Lockdown, Life Sahi Hai 2, Kallachirippu, and B.Tech, helping establish ZEE5’s early differentiation in India’s rapidly evolving OTT market.
Earlier, he spent more than four years with Maxus (GroupM), serving as Senior Creative Director (West & South) – Content and Creative Director (West) – Content. During this period, he built one of India’s leading branded content practices, creating award-winning intellectual properties and content solutions for marquee brands including Vodafone, Tata Motors, L’Oréal Paris, Maybelline New York, Myntra, HDFC Life, Starbucks, LinkedIn, Tata Tea, and Platinum Guild of India. His notable projects included TVF Tripling with Tiago, Women of Worth, Vodafone Superfan, LinkedIn Power Profiles, and the Grand Emvie Award-winning Tata Tea Power of 49 campaign.
His earlier career includes creative leadership and production roles with Endemol India, Miditech Pvt. Ltd., Essel Vision Productions, and NDTV, where he was part of the core team that launched NDTV Metronation, India’s first metro-focused lifestyle channel. Across television, digital media, branded content, and OTT platforms, he has built a distinguished career spanning content creation, platform strategy, audience engagement, and business growth.
An alumnus of the entertainment and media industry with over two decades of experience, Tejkarran brings a unique blend of creative vision, platform-building expertise, commercial acumen, and digital innovation leadership. His return to ZEE5 comes at a strategic time as the platform focuses on accelerating growth, expanding audience engagement, and leveraging emerging technologies to shape the future of digital entertainment.
