Washington, D.C., United States, July 2026 – UnitedHealth Group has promoted Sarosh Shetty to Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Optum Insight – Provider, recognizing his exceptional leadership in healthcare technology, product engineering, digital transformation, and enterprise-scale innovation.
In his new role, Shetty will lead technology strategy, product engineering, platform modernization, digital innovation, and technology operations for Optum Insight’s Provider business. He will play a pivotal role in advancing technology-driven healthcare solutions that help providers improve operational efficiency, clinical outcomes, patient engagement, and financial performance.
Shetty has been with UnitedHealth Group for nearly seven years, most recently serving as Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Software Engineering for Optum Insight. In that capacity, he led product engineering teams responsible for more than $400 million in annual revenue, supporting over 20 healthcare technology products across provider, payer, and life sciences markets.
During his tenure, he successfully led the restoration of critical analytics platforms following a major cyber incident, completing production recovery within six weeks. He also spearheaded the migration of Optum Insight’s analytics portfolio to AWS cloud infrastructure, generating approximately $45 million in cost savings while accelerating innovation and scalability.
His leadership contributed to more than $375 million in incremental revenue generation through advanced analytics, AI-enabled healthcare solutions, disease propensity modeling, population health platforms, revenue cycle technologies, clinical trial solutions, and consumer engagement products. He additionally played a key role in integrating Change Healthcare’s analytics capabilities following its acquisition by Optum.
Prior to UnitedHealth Group, Shetty spent more than a decade with The Advisory Board Company, where he rose through multiple engineering leadership roles to become Senior Director of Engineering. During that period, he led the development and commercialization of several healthcare technology solutions that generated significant revenue growth and supported hundreds of healthcare systems across the United States.
Earlier in his career, he held technology leadership positions at Pfizer, where he led business intelligence and reporting technology initiatives supporting pharmaceutical research and development operations, and at AOL, where he managed technical training and operational excellence programs.
Throughout his career, Shetty has built deep expertise across healthcare analytics, cloud transformation, artificial intelligence, enterprise software engineering, data platforms, digital health innovation, mergers and acquisitions integration, and technology-enabled business growth.
