Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, June 2024 – Pamela LeMaistre has joined the City of Ottawa as the new Chief Human Resources Officer. Pamela will be responsible for overseeing human resources strategies and operations, aiming to enhance organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.
Pamela’s most recent role was at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB), where she served for six years. As the General Manager of People, Culture, and Leadership from February 2023 to June 2024, she led various HR initiatives and strategic planning. Prior to this, she was the Manager of Human Resources from July 2018 to February 2023, focusing on HR management and policy development.
Before joining OCDSB, Pamela worked at Shepherds of Good Hope as the Director of Human Resources from October 2016 to June 2018. She led HR programs, change management initiatives, and policy development, supporting strategic planning for transitional shelter and supportive housing locations.
Earlier in her career, Pamela was with Canadian Nuclear Laboratories from 2014 to 2016 as the Employee Relations Lead. She managed HR business partners and implemented change management initiatives during the transition from a federal Crown Corporation to a private sector model.
Pamela also held a significant role at LCBO for 15 years. As the Regional HR Manager, she led multi-disciplinary teams in change management, policy development, employee engagement initiatives, and negotiations with numerous bargaining units.
