Princeton, New Jersey, United States, May 2025 – Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) has announced the appointment of Fernando Salinas as Chief Talent and Inclusion Officer, a newly elevated leadership role responsible for shaping the company’s global talent strategy and advancing its longstanding commitment to inclusion and diversity.
Fernando brings over 25 years of global HR leadership experience across pharmaceutical, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors, with deep expertise in talent strategy, organizational effectiveness, and inclusive leadership development. Most recently, he served as Chief Inclusion and Diversity Officer and Head of HR Commercialization at BMS, where he led a 90+ member global HR team across the US, Europe, APAC, the Middle East & Africa, and LATAM. In this role, he successfully integrated talent management, culture transformation, and organizational design to drive commercial excellence and deliver greater access to medicines.
Before joining Bristol Myers Squibb, Fernando held a series of impactful leadership positions over a 15-year tenure at Johnson & Johnson, including Global SVP HR for R&D, Robotics, and Digital Solutions, and VP HR for US Commercial Pharm, Consumer Health, and Medical Devices. He played a key role in developing talent strategies to support digital transformation, emerging tech in MedTech, and integration of startup innovation into global operations. He also led the HOLA ERG—Hispanic and Latin Organization for Leadership Achievements—championing diversity and development for Hispanic talent across the enterprise.
Fernando’s earlier HR leadership experience includes nearly a decade at Pilkington, where he managed regional HR functions across South America, leading initiatives to drive engagement, retention, and inclusive workplace culture in manufacturing and operations.
In addition to his corporate roles, Fernando serves on several boards and advisory groups, including Arm In Arm, Girls With Impact, and Women of Color in Pharma (WOCIP). He is also a Hispanic Star Ambassador with the We Are All Human Foundation, advocating for Hispanic leadership and representation in business.
