Bogotá, Colombia, September 2025 – Plata Card has appointed María del Mar V. as its new Head of Talent Acquisition Colombia HQ. In this role, she will lead the talent acquisition strategy from the ground up, focusing on attracting senior leadership and building high-performance teams as Plata launches and scales its operations in Colombia. Her mission is to bring in visionary leaders and top talent who are committed to transformation, value creation, and redefining access to financial services.
María del Mar most recently served as Talent Acquisition Lead at Cashea, where she designed and led the company’s LATAM-wide recruitment strategy. Over six months, she oversaw more than 130 hiring processes, ensuring speed, quality, and strong cultural alignment. She worked directly with over 30 stakeholders across finance, engineering, data, product, and marketing, while leading a small team and implementing a successful referral program as a key talent pipeline.
Prior to Cashea, she was Talent Acquisition Specialist LATAM at Simetrik, recruiting for specialized roles across Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico. She also gained deep fintech expertise as Senior Business Recruiter for Colombia and Mexico at Nubank, Latin America’s largest fintech, where she led hiring for functions such as marketing, finance, risk, business development, and product operations.
Earlier, María del Mar was a Consultant at Talentop Colombia, and before that, she spent over three years at Deloitte Colombia as Talent Attraction Specialist, where she advanced from trainee to specialist while managing end-to-end recruitment processes. Her career began with early HR and recruitment roles at PwC and Hays, where she built her foundation in talent acquisition with a focus on IT, telecoms, and professional services.
Alongside her corporate career, she also works as a Talent & Growth Advisor (Freelance), providing personalized coaching and career advisory services to professionals across Latin America, guiding them through transitions, CV optimization, LinkedIn strategies, mock interviews, and negotiation of job offers.
