Dana brings over two decades of leadership experience across investment, executive search, and marketing, making his a key addition to Emblem’s mission of building capability-driven growth partnerships.
In his new role, Dana will lead talent strategy and organizational effectiveness, focusing on developing leadership pipelines and enhancing portfolio company performance through strategic talent initiatives. His deep understanding of leadership dynamics, assessment, and organizational design will strengthen Emblem’s people-centric investment philosophy.
Before joining Emblem Investments, Dana Allen served as Managing Director, Talent at Gauge Capital, where he led firmwide talent initiatives across portfolio companies for four years. His work focused on aligning leadership capability with business strategy and ensuring that human capital development translated directly into enterprise value creation.
Prior to Gauge Capital, Dana spent two years with Spencer Stuart, one of the world’s leading executive search and leadership advisory firms, where he worked with C-suite executives and boards across sectors on senior leadership appointments and succession planning.
Earlier, he served as an Executive Search and Assessment Consultant at Russell Reynolds Associates for six years, advising Fortune 500 clients on executive recruitment, leadership assessment, and talent strategy across multiple industries. His tenure there honed his expertise in identifying high-impact leaders and guiding organizations through complex talent transitions.
Dana began his corporate career at PepsiCo, where he spent eight years as Senior Director of Marketing across flagship brands such as Doritos, Cheetos, and Tostitos. He also managed portfolio strategy and customer marketing for major accounts including Walmart and Subway, driving strong brand and business growth. His early experience includes B2B sales management at Staples and a marketing internship at Nestlé Purina ONE, laying a strong foundation in customer insights, leadership, and strategic execution.
Dana Allen holds an MBA in Marketing and Corporate Strategy from the University of Michigan – Stephen M. Ross School of Business, where he developed a deep interest in brand leadership, strategic growth, and organizational behavior — perspectives that continue to inform his work in talent and leadership advisory.
