Muscat, Masqaṭ, Oman, November 2025 – Ramki G.V has been appointed as the Chief Business Officer at Thawani Pay, bringing with him over 28 years of deep expertise across banking, financial services, sales leadership, innovation, and large-scale business development. In his new mandate, he will lead business growth strategies, drive core initiatives, and accelerate operational efficiency to strengthen Thawani’s next phase of digital payments expansion.
In his most recent role as Head – Enterprise Sales, Conventional and Islamic Banking at BankDhofar, Ramki successfully led enterprise-level business development, strengthened market presence, and enhanced both conventional and Islamic banking portfolios. His work focused on driving revenue growth, improving customer experience, and building strong institutional partnerships across Oman.
Prior to that, he served in a senior leadership position leading National Sales and Business Development at National Bank of Oman, where he played an important role in strengthening national-level sales, deepening customer engagement, and supporting product distribution strategies across regional markets.
The largest chapter of Ramki’s career was his remarkable 14 years and 8 months at Bank Muscat, where he evolved through multiple leadership roles including Group Head – Sales & Services and Head – National Sales & Expat Services, Consumer Banking. During this long and influential tenure, he implemented scientific performance monitoring systems, built MIS-led decision frameworks, strengthened retail banking sales, enhanced expat services, and drove several high-impact retail asset growth initiatives. His long-form reflection on his time at Bank Muscat highlights the pivotal role it played in shaping his professional identity and leadership style.
Prior to his tenure in Oman’s leading banks, Ramki held leadership roles in India, including serving as Regional Sales Manager – Alternate Channels at Tata AIG, Assistant Vice President – Retail Assets Sales at Bank Muscat, Head – Retail Asset Sales at HDFC Bank, and earlier positions in GE Capital. These roles formed the foundation of his expertise in retail asset sales, distribution strategies, financial product growth, and performance improvement across diverse markets.
Ramki holds a Master’s degree in Business Management and a FinTech certification from the University of Pennsylvania, equipping him with a strong blend of business strategy and modern financial technology capabilities that align with Thawani Pay’s digital-first ambitions.
