Boston, Massachusetts, United States, March 2026 — Johnson & Johnson has welcomed back Sonal Patel as Vice President, Business Development – Cardiovascular. In this role, she will focus on advancing business development initiatives across J&J’s cardiovascular businesses, supporting growth priorities through strategic partnerships and corporate development activity.
Sonal’s return to Johnson & Johnson reflects a strong combination of corporate development, strategy, and medtech leadership experience across multiple global healthcare organizations. Her appointment strengthens J&J’s business development capability in cardiovascular, a segment where innovation, disciplined portfolio strategy, and partnership-led growth remain critical.
Before rejoining Johnson & Johnson, Sonal Patel served at Zimmer Biomet in senior corporate development leadership roles, most recently as Vice President, Corporate Business Development, and earlier as Vice President, Business Development Strategy & Ventures, based in the Boston area. In these roles, she contributed to business development strategy, ventures, and corporate development priorities supporting portfolio and growth initiatives.
Earlier, she served as a Board Member at MassMEDIC, contributing to industry engagement and leadership within the medical device ecosystem.
Prior to Zimmer Biomet, Sonal spent nearly eight years with Hologic, Inc., where she progressed through multiple leadership roles including Vice President, Corporate Development & Strategy, Senior Director, Strategy & Business Development, and Director, Strategic Marketing. Her journey at Hologic reflects deep experience across corporate strategy, business development, and market-facing leadership.
Sonal’s earlier career includes a long tenure at Johnson & Johnson, where she served in roles spanning strategy, business analytics, and strategic marketing within J&J’s medtech businesses. Her previous J&J experience includes positions such as Senior Manager, Strategic Marketing (Neuro), Manager, Business Analytics (Neuro), and Senior Strategic Planner (DePuy Spine)—building strong foundations in portfolio strategy, commercial planning, and data-driven decision making.
