Alicia Franqui has been named the new Vice President of Human Resources and Learning at The Children’s Village. This role marks a significant step in Franqui’s extensive career in human resources and organizational management, spanning over two decades.
Before joining The Children’s Village, Franqui served as the Associate Vice President of Human Resources and CHRO at New Jersey City University from August 2021 to April 2024, where she was instrumental in reshaping HR policies and practices to better support the university’s dynamic environment. Prior to that, from May 2016 to August 2021, Franqui was the Chief Diversity Officer at York College (The City University of New York), where she led significant diversity initiatives and played a crucial role in fostering an inclusive culture across the campus.
Her earlier roles include acting as an Attorney and Consultant in private practice, where she provided specialized legal and HR services to various clients, enhancing organizational compliance and workforce management from February 2009 to April 2016. Additionally, she offered her expertise as Of Counsel for Middletown Medical PC, guiding the multi-site physician practice through complex legal and HR challenges from October 2013 to March 2016.
Franqui’s career is distinguished not only by her leadership roles but also by her deep commitment to improving employee relations, strategic human resources planning, and fostering inclusive workplace environments.
