Redmond, Washington, United States, March 2025 – Amy Coleman has been appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer at Microsoft, joining the company’s senior leadership team and reporting directly to CEO Satya Nadella. Her promotion follows the transition of Kathleen Hogan into a new role as EVP, Office of Strategy and Transformation.
Coleman brings 25 years of HR leadership experience, having spent the last six years leading HR for Microsoft’s corporate functions. Throughout her tenure, she has played a critical role in shaping employee engagement, enterprise crisis response, and cultural evolution across business units.
Satya Nadella noted:
“Amy has led HR for our corporate functions across the company for the past six years, following various HR roles partnering across engineering, sales, marketing, and business development spanning 25 years. In that time, she has been a trusted advisor to both Kathleen and to me as she orchestrated many cross-company workstreams as we evolved our culture, improved our employee engagement model, established our employee relations team, and drove enterprise crisis response for our people. Amy’s commitment to operational excellence and high performance will be key in driving our continued success, and I’m confident in the perspective, expertise, and thoughtful approach she’ll bring as we navigate the next phase of our journey.”
Previously, Coleman partnered with functions across engineering, sales, marketing, and business development. She has been a trusted advisor to both Hogan and Nadella and has orchestrated key cross-company initiatives, including the establishment of Microsoft’s employee relations team.
Her deep understanding of the Microsoft organization, combined with a strong focus on operational excellence and performance, positions her well to lead the company’s HR strategy into the future.
