Bucharest, Romania, June 2025 – Andrea Tognetti has started a new role as Head of People and Culture at UniCredit Bank Romania, marking a significant step forward in his nearly two-decade-long journey with UniCredit Group across multiple European geographies. Based in Bucharest, Andrea will lead strategic HR and cultural initiatives that foster employee engagement, talent development, and organizational transformation in one of Romania’s leading banking institutions.
Andrea joins the Romanian entity after nearly five years as Head of Human Resources at UniCredit Bulbank in Bulgaria, where he drove key transformation initiatives in talent strategy and culture change. His leadership played a central role in enhancing HR capabilities and fostering a progressive and people-centric work environment.
Prior to his Bulgaria tenure, Andrea served as Head of HR at UniCredit Bank Hungary for close to three years. There, he played a key role in aligning HR functions with business goals and introduced initiatives that strengthened employee performance and leadership development.
Andrea has held multiple senior leadership roles within UniCredit Italy, including HR Manager for the COO Area, Senior HR Business Partner, and Head of HR Planning, Compensation and Development, where he designed and implemented programs on learning, performance management, and job architecture. Earlier in his career, he also served as Head of Planning and Control for CFO CL, focusing on budgeting, reporting, and M&A planning.
Before joining UniCredit Group, Andrea gathered experience in financial controlling at Thera and in strategic retail management with Decathlon France. With over 20 years of diversified experience, he brings a wealth of strategic and operational HR expertise to his new position at UniCredit Bank Romania.
