Pune, Maharashtra, India, February 2025 – Ashish Thakur has been appointed as Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Cummins India, where he will lead IT strategies to drive business transformation, enhance operational efficiency, and accelerate digital innovation. With a strong background in manufacturing, automotive, and IT services, his expertise in digitization, technology-driven growth, and strategic leadership will play a key role in strengthening Cummins India’s IT infrastructure and aligning technology with business objectives.
Thakur has been with Cummins India for nearly seven years, where he previously served as Business Technology Leader and IT Director – DBU, NRP, Aftermarket & CRM Capability. In these roles, he led digital transformation initiatives across supply chain, aftermarket, and customer relationship management (CRM), focusing on mobility solutions, analytics, and enterprise system integration.
Before joining Cummins, he worked at Tata Technologies for over seven years, where he managed global digital transformation projects across manufacturing and industrial sectors. As Engagement Manager, he was responsible for driving digital adoption, CXO-level strategic planning, and leveraging analytics, cloud computing, and machine learning to enhance business processes.
Earlier in his career, Thakur worked at Zensar Technologies as a Business Analyst, where he played a key role in stakeholder management, business process transformation, and IT strategy execution. He also gained software development experience at Harbinger Group, where he worked on enterprise applications and digital solutions.
Thakur holds a strong foundation in technology and business transformation, making him well-positioned to drive innovation and IT excellence at Cummins India. In his new role as CIO, he will focus on scaling IT capabilities, advancing digital solutions, and ensuring seamless integration of technology to enhance Cummins India’s long-term growth strategy.
