Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, December 2024 – Ben Rough has been named Managing Director & Head of Diversified Industries Western Canada, Corporate Banking at BMO Capital Markets. In this role, Ben will lead the diversified industries team in Western Canada, focusing on corporate banking operations, client relationships, and innovative financial solutions to support the needs of businesses across the region.
Ben has been a key leader at BMO Capital Markets for seven years. Most recently, he served as Director & Head of Western Canada, Diversified Industries, Corporate Banking, where he spearheaded client initiatives and business development efforts. Before that, Ben excelled as Director & Head of Corporate Banking, British Columbia, managing a diverse portfolio and coordinating cross-functional deal teams.

Before joining BMO Capital Markets, Ben worked at Wells Fargo, Wholesale Banking for nearly six years. In his role as Vice President, he managed a portfolio of diversified clients, providing tailored financial solutions and spearheading cross-selling initiatives across 86 products and services, including debt capital markets and foreign exchange.
Earlier in his career, Ben gained experience at CIBC Commercial Banking and Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) Corporate Banking. At CIBC, he supported directors with client acquisition and credit management, while at RBS, he managed a significant portfolio of real estate development companies, focusing on debt funding and risk management.
Ben began his professional journey at Suncorp Group in Australia, where he developed expertise in insurance sales, lending consulting, and marketing advisory, contributing to the creation of relationship-based marketing strategies for mortgage brokers.
