Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, May 2025 — Chiranjivi Paudel has been appointed Executive Director – Global Head, Margin / Collateral & Customer Valuations Operations at Standard Chartered, marking a key leadership development as the bank continues to reinforce its global operational framework. In his new role, Chiranjivi will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of end-to-end margining, collateral management, and customer valuation processes across the bank’s international network.
Chiranjivi has been with Standard Chartered since 2017, where he has held multiple senior roles. Most recently, he served as Global Head, Margin / Collateral Operations, following his tenure as Senior Vice President managing collateral management and portfolio reconciliation functions. In these roles, he has been instrumental in implementing global reconciliation protocols, strengthening risk management infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with regulatory mandates.
Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Chiranjivi held leadership roles at HSBC and J.P. Morgan Chase, where he gained extensive exposure to dispute resolution, regulatory reporting, margin call management, and tri-party reconciliations. At HSBC in Kuala Lumpur, he served as Collateral Dispute Manager, where he spearheaded the implementation of the Blazer initiative for two-way margining, and played a critical role in the adoption of collateral systems and dispute analytics frameworks. His deep understanding of the uncleared derivatives space and operational risk strategy positioned him as a key contributor to HSBC’s regulatory compliance readiness.
At J.P. Morgan Chase, Chiranjivi spent over seven years in various capacities including Collateral Manager, where he managed margin call processes, intercompany reconciliations, ISDA/CSA configurations, and collateral reporting. His strong foundation in operational management, systems implementation, and people leadership was built during this tenure, with a consistent focus on enhancing client delivery and internal controls.
With over 17 years of international experience, Chiranjivi brings a rare blend of operational depth and strategic foresight to his new role. His leadership will be critical as Standard Chartered accelerates its efforts to optimize post-trade operations, improve dispute resolution frameworks, and strengthen risk and valuation systems in line with evolving global standards.
