London, England, United Kingdom, October 2025 — Christopher W. has stepped into a new leadership role as Deputy Chief People Officer at King’s College London, marking a significant milestone in his distinguished HR career. In this expanded position, he will play a crucial role in advancing the university’s people strategy, fostering organizational development, and aligning HR initiatives with King’s long-term vision and mission.
Christopher has been part of King’s College London for nearly seven years, where he has progressively held key roles in the university’s people function. Before his current appointment, he served as Director of People, where he oversaw strategic HR programs across multiple faculties and departments. Prior to that, as Director of People Partnering, he provided strategic support to the Chief Operating Officer and executive teams, leading the business partnering function that supported more than 3,000 professional services staff. His work included spearheading major organizational change programs, managing executive employee relations, and ensuring the alignment of people strategy with institutional priorities.
Before joining King’s, Christopher served as Head of HR at Zinc Network, a global communications agency. There, he built the HR function from the ground up across six countries, driving engagement, retention, and capability development initiatives that aligned HR strategy with business growth.
Earlier in his career, he worked with the Cabinet Office as Head of Director Talent, leading corporate talent management initiatives for director-level civil servants. In this role, he was responsible for succession planning, developing government-wide talent programs, and advising senior leaders on leadership development.
Christopher also held several key positions within Civil Service HR and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), including HR Policy Lead and HR Business Partner, where he contributed to national HR policy reforms, employee engagement strategy, and large-scale HR transformation initiatives. These roles built his expertise in policy design, change management, and workforce planning.
Christopher holds an MSc in Occupational Psychology from Cardiff University, which has provided a strong foundation for his evidence-based approach to HR leadership and organizational psychology.
