In her expanded role, Courtney Cheyne will lead Wagepoint’s People & Culture agenda at a strategic level, building future-ready talent systems, leadership development priorities, employee experience programs, and culture frameworks aligned with Wagepoint’s ambitious growth journey.
Courtney has been with Wagepoint for nearly three years, most recently serving as Director, People & Culture, where she played a central role in developing a people-first organization for a fast-scaling technology business. Wagepoint supports over 25,000 customers, processes 300,000 payments each month, and moves more than $8 billion in annual payroll—an operational scale where strong people leadership becomes a critical business enabler.
Prior to Wagepoint, Courtney served as Director of People & Culture at Overstory Media Group, a community media organization focused on strengthening local communities through high-quality publications. She also held a long tenure of over four years at Buyatab Online Inc. as People & Culture Manager, supporting a business that provides advanced eGift Card infrastructure and marketing services to major clients across North America and Asia.
Earlier in her career, Courtney worked as an HR Business Partner at BuildDirect Technologies, a technology platform in the home improvement ecosystem, and spent over five years at Omicron, progressing through roles including Human Resources Coordinator, Human Resources Advisor, and Senior Human Resources Advisor—building strong foundational expertise in HR operations, employee relations, and business partnering in a project-based matrix environment.
