In this new role, Deep will spearhead AI-driven transformation initiatives across the entire HT Group, embedding an “AI-first” culture and positioning the organisation at the forefront of data innovation in digital media.
Before joining HT Digital Streams, Deep served as Director – Data Science at Zupee, where he led cutting-edge projects in Generative AI and Reinforcement Learning to enhance marketing strategies and optimize user engagement for one of India’s leading real-money gaming platforms. His work there focused on personalized user experiences, predictive modeling, and data-driven customer retention strategies, helping drive measurable growth and innovation.
Prior to Zupee, Deep was Vice President – Data Science and Research at Extramarks Education India Pvt. Ltd., where he led the development of AI-powered educational solutions such as automated proctoring systems, AI question-answering models, and short video generation tools. Several of his innovations during this tenure were patent pending, showcasing his deep expertise in applying AI and computer vision for large-scale impact in EdTech.
Earlier in his career, Deep held senior data science roles at Wynk Limited (Airtel Digital) and Reliance Industries Limited, where he worked on recommendation engines, AI chatbots, and deep learning systems for real-time analytics and automation. His professional journey also includes early roles with Sagacito Technologies, Marquee Equity, and Mu Sigma Inc., where he contributed to algorithmic development, machine learning research, and prescriptive analytics.
Deep holds a Ph.D. from the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIIT Delhi), where his research focused on AI in education through Computer Vision, NLP, Audio, and Human–Computer Interaction. His academic and professional contributions reflect his passion for building next-generation AI systems that bridge innovation, user behavior, and business transformation.
At HT Digital Streams, Deep will lead initiatives to drive AI integration across business, editorial, and audience analytics, ensuring the organization remains data-led, insight-driven, and future-ready.
