In his new role, Dennis is leading corporate information and technology development, with a sharp focus on integrating AI to streamline problem identification, optimize solution pathways, and cut down costs tied to inefficiencies and communication gaps. His emphasis on innovation is set to redefine how public projects are bid, managed, and delivered with clarity and precision.
Dennis most recently served as President of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), contributing over four years of service in leadership roles, including as 2022 ASCE President and 2021 President-Elect. His influence extended across policy, education, and advocacy, shaping the future of civil engineering at a global scale.
Earlier, Dennis held the position of J.T. White Endowed Chair, Director, and Professor at Mississippi State University’s R.A. Rula School of Civil & Environmental Engineering, where he dedicated over 15 years to academic leadership, mentoring, and advancing research in environmental and civil engineering disciplines.
Dennis holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University, with a minor in Biochemistry and a subminor in Statistics. He also earned his Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the same institution, specializing in Environmental Engineering. His affiliations include ASCE, Chi Epsilon, Tau Beta Pi, Water Environment Federation, American Water Works Association, and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
