Jubilee Insurance, a premier insurer in East Africa, proudly announced the appointment of Eugene Mutekhele as its new Chief Finance Officer (CFO). Mutekhele, who officially assumed his role in February 2024, brings to the table a wealth of experience and a proven track record in financial management and strategic planning within the finance and insurance sectors.
Eugene Mutekhele’s illustrious career spans over a decade, with significant roles across different geographies, including Kenya, Rwanda, and the United Kingdom. Prior to joining Jubilee Insurance, Mutekhele served as the CFO for the Life Business segment at Old Mutual Kenya from May 2021 until January 2024. During his tenure, he was instrumental in steering the company towards financial growth and sustainability.
Before his role at Old Mutual Kenya, Mutekhele was associated with PwC, where he held various positions culminating in a Senior Manager role. His responsibilities included overseeing financial statement audits in line with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and IFRS, leading business development for financial services clients, and establishing the Risk Assurance Services department in Rwanda. Mutekhele’s international exposure is marked by his stint at PwC UK, where he supported the financial services sector and played a key role in audit methodology and transformation.
Mutekhele’s expertise also extends to investment analysis, having contributed to the African Trade Insurance Agency as an Investment Analyst. This role saw him managing the investment portfolio and liaising with investment managers and AAA-star rated investors.
With Mutekhele at the financial helm, Jubilee Insurance is poised for continued growth and innovation in the insurance sector. His extensive experience and strategic vision are expected to drive the company’s financial strategies and contribute significantly to its mission of providing exceptional insurance services across East Africa.
