Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, March 2026 — Sterlite Electric has appointed Frédéric Tréfois as Group Chief Executive Officer, as the company strengthens its focus on enabling reliable, affordable, and sustainable power infrastructure across markets.
In his announcement, Tréfois highlighted his experience across the global power and infrastructure sector, with a focus on advancing renewable energy and strengthening digital capabilities. He noted that grids are evolving into more intelligent, interconnected systems, and emphasized the importance of data-driven decision-making to improve reliability, optimize asset performance, and enhance operational outcomes. He also referenced a long-standing association with Pratik Agarwal and the broader Sterlite ecosystem, thanking the Sterlite Board for its trust as he steps into the role.
Before joining Sterlite Electric as Group CEO, Tréfois served as Chief Executive Officer at Zaphiro Technologies. Prior to that, he was Managing Director at Sécheron SA, leading electrical equipment and solutions for transportation infrastructures.
Earlier, he served as Chief Executive Officer at Linxon, the joint venture between SNC-Lavalin and ABB, focused on EPC delivery for large electrical AC substation turnkey projects across transmission, renewables, conventional generation, and transportation.
He also spent several years at ABB, including as Group Vice President – EPC Solutions Product Group, with global responsibility for EPC business focused mainly on transmission and distribution substations and infrastructure projects, and as Group Vice President – Head of Product Group Plant Electrification, leading global P&L activity across power generation and water projects, including microgrids.
Earlier in his career, he served as Commercial Director at Acciona Energia, leading global commercial activities across renewables, and held senior leadership roles at Isolux overseeing transmission & distribution and renewables businesses. He also worked with Areva in commercial leadership roles spanning high-voltage substation projects and global electrical distribution turnkey projects, and began his early career as a Project Manager at Cegelec supporting power plant projects across Latin America.
