Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, February 2026 —Girija Kolagada has been appointed as India Country Head and Vice President of APAC HR Business Partnering at Progress Software, marking a unique and strategic leadership transition within the organization. In this role, she leads the regional people strategy while overseeing the company’s overall operations in India, aligning talent, business priorities, and operational excellence across the APAC region.
This appointment reflects a distinctive shift from her previous role as VP of Engineering for Progress Chef, where she was instrumental in defining the technical strategy for the automation suite and driving product excellence across global cross-functional teams. Her engineering leadership enabled streamlined infrastructure management, compliance, and deployment, positioning her uniquely to bridge the gap between technical innovation and human capital strategy.
Prior to this, Girija built a distinguished career at Oracle, where she served as Director, Cloud Infrastructure and Platforms. During her nearly decade-long tenure, she delivered cloud-native solutions, managed platform engineering for managed Kubernetes and networking services, and acted as the IDC Hub lead, mentoring emerging talent and strengthening the innovation ecosystem in India.
Earlier in her career, she spent over seven years at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) as a Scientist and Mission Operations Manager. There, she led software development for satellite health monitoring and data distribution systems and supported mission-critical operations for key satellite programs—laying a foundation of engineering rigor and operational discipline.
By merging mission-critical engineering expertise with a deep commitment to mentoring talent and shaping organizational strategy, Girija now spearheads the regional HR and country leadership agenda for Progress Software.
