Pune, Maharashtra, India, January 2026 — OPmobility has announced the elevation of GK Sharma (Gyanendra Sharma) to Vice President and Region Chairperson – India (Group), and Managing Director / Country Director – India for the Exterior and Lighting Business Group. In this expanded leadership mandate, he will oversee OPmobility’s India operations, driving strategic growth, manufacturing excellence, and technological innovation while strengthening India’s role as a key pillar in the company’s global ecosystem.
With more than 28 years of experience across automotive component manufacturing and industrial automation, GK Sharma brings deep expertise in P&L leadership, operations management, technology transfer, R&D, and performance excellence. His strategic focus on transformation, operational rigor, and scalability has enabled him to lead large teams and deliver sustained business growth across global organizations.
GK Sharma has been associated with OPmobility since 2019, steadily progressing through senior leadership roles. Prior to his elevation, he served as Country Director and Managing Director – India, leading OPmobility’s India business and Technology Centers in Pune and Bengaluru. He also held concurrent responsibilities as Board Member for OPmobility Lighting India, Managing Director for OPmobility Exteriors India, and ExCo Member for the Exterior and Lighting Business Group.
Before joining OPmobility, GK spent over a decade at Regal Beloit Corporation, where he led greenfield and brownfield manufacturing projects, mergers, and operational excellence initiatives across India. Earlier, he played a pivotal role in manufacturing, productivity, and quality leadership at GE, where he honed his skills in lean manufacturing, plant management, and global process alignment. His early career stints at Friedrich Boysen GmbH & Co. KG and Mark Exhaust Systems Ltd. further strengthened his expertise in vendor development, sourcing, and manufacturing engineering.
