REDWOOD CITY, California, United States, April 2025 — Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the world’s digital infrastructure company®, has announced the appointment of Harmeen Mehta as Executive Vice President and Chief Digital and Innovation Officer (CDIO), effective April 4, 2025. With nearly three decades of experience leading large-scale digital transformation in the technology infrastructure and telecom sectors, Mehta will play a pivotal role in strengthening Equinix’s position as a global leader in digital innovation.
In her new role, Mehta will align technology capabilities with business strategy to accelerate Equinix’s digital transformation and innovation agenda. She will focus on leveraging emerging technologies to enhance customer and employee experiences, boost operational efficiency, and enable the development of innovative business models. She will serve on the Equinix Executive Staff, reporting directly to Adaire Fox-Martin, CEO and President of Equinix.

Prior to joining Equinix, Mehta served as Chief Digital and Innovation Officer at BT Group, where she led a digital and AI-driven transformation, enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency. Before BT, she held the dual role of Global CIO and CEO of the Cloud and Security Business at Bharti Airtel Limited, overseeing digital transformation across one of the world’s largest telecom networks. Her earlier career includes technology leadership roles at BBVA, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, and HSBC, along with consulting engagements with British Airways and Qantas.
She currently serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Lloyds Banking Group and as Vice-Chair and Board Member of TM Forum.
Mehta has been recognized with several prestigious industry accolades, including the MIT Sloan CIO Leadership Award, TM Forum Global CIO of the Year, and Women of the Decade in Innovation & Leadership by the Women Economic Forum. She has also been named one of the Top 10 Women in Telecom and Tech by the Economic Times.
