London, United Kingdom, December 2025 — Helene Sharrock has been appointed as Chief People Officer at Excel London, the UK’s largest exhibition and international convention centre. This newly created executive role places people and culture at the centre of Excel London’s long-term growth strategy, organisational capability building, and commitment to an inclusive, high-performance workplace.
In her new position, Helene Sharrock will lead the organisation’s people and culture agenda as Excel London continues to expand its global footprint, strengthen leadership capability, and support the evolving needs of the events, trade, and business tourism ecosystem.
Prior to joining Excel London, Helene Sharrock served as Chief People Officer at The Jockey Club, where she led people strategy across one of the UK’s most prominent sporting organisations. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in organisational transformation, leadership development, and embedding inclusive and values-led culture across diverse operations.
Before this, Helene held the role of Head of HR at Marks and Spencer, where she was responsible for shaping people strategies for Digital & Data, Marketing, and M&S.com teams. Her work supported large-scale transformation initiatives, aligning workforce capability with long-term sustainable growth in a fast-paced retail environment.
Earlier in her career, Helene spent close to eight years at BT Group, holding senior leadership roles including Head of HR, BT Consumer and Senior HR Manager, Technology, Service and Operations. In these roles, she provided strategic HR leadership across brand, media, sport, and technology functions, supporting complex change programmes and innovation-led teams.
Her earlier HR leadership experience includes roles at ESPN and ITN, where she supported creative and editorial environments, as well as an early career foundation at P&O Nedlloyd, gaining exposure to large, multi-site operational workforces.
