Canada, May 2024 – Irene Bidinger has joined AFL as the new Executive Director, Human Resources (Canada). With extensive experience in HR leadership, Irene will contribute to AFL’s mission of providing end-to-end solutions to various markets globally.
Irene Bidinger previously served as Vice President, People – Western Canada at Newcrest Mining for nearly two years. In this role, she played a critical part in enhancing HR strategies and processes, ensuring alignment with the company’s operational goals.
Before Newcrest Mining, Irene was at Pretium Resources Inc., where she held the position of Vice President Human Resources for five months and Director of Human Resources for almost four years. During her tenure, she was instrumental in developing and implementing HR policies and programs that supported the company’s growth and employee engagement.
Irene also worked at KGHM International as an HR Manager, Business Partner for over two years. Here, she successfully managed HR operations and partnered with business leaders to drive organizational effectiveness and employee satisfaction.
Her early career includes a significant tenure at Amec Foster Wheeler, where she spent over eight years in various HR roles, including Senior HR Advisor/Business Partner, Human Resources Advisor, and Human Resources Coordinator. In these positions, she honed her skills in HR management, employee relations, and strategic HR planning.
