Copenhagen, Denmark, November 2025 — Copenhagen Airports A/S (CPH) has announced the appointment of Jacob Faartoft Merklin as Head of Talent Acquisition, marking a significant addition to the company’s leadership as it continues to enhance its people strategy and organizational growth. With a career spanning over two decades across global enterprises, Jacob brings deep expertise in talent acquisition, leadership development, and organizational transformation.
Before joining Copenhagen Airports, Jacob served as Director and Head of Talent Acquisition Partnering & Delivery Denmark at Novo Nordisk, where he led a team of over 75 professionals supporting the Product Supply, Quality, and IT (PSQIT) divisions. His leadership played a critical role in scaling the company’s hiring capabilities, strengthening employer branding, and delivering world-class candidate experiences amid Novo Nordisk’s global expansion.
Earlier at A.P. Moller – Maersk, Jacob held key global leadership positions in talent acquisition, where he managed large-scale recruitment transformation initiatives and RPO frameworks covering 8,000+ annual hires worldwide. Notably, he co-developed Maersk’s award-winning “License to Recruit” gamified training program, which trained hiring managers globally on behavioral interviewing, diversity, and inclusive recruitment.
His earlier tenure at Maersk Drilling, Microsoft, and Promando A/S refined his expertise in executive search, strategic HR, and leadership training. Jacob began his professional journey as an Officer in The Royal Danish Army, followed by an athletic career as a professional bobsleigh athlete on the Danish National Team, experiences that helped shape his resilience and team-driven leadership style.
At Copenhagen Airports, Jacob will lead the talent acquisition strategy across the organization, focusing on aligning CPH’s people priorities with its long-term business ambitions and sustainability goals. His leadership will be central to attracting top talent, fostering an inclusive culture, and supporting CPH’s mission to deliver world-class travel experiences while advancing its climate-neutral vision for 2030.
