Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, March 2025 — Jayanta Basu has been reappointed as Managing Director of ITD Cementation India Ltd, with his new term commencing on April 1, 2025 and continuing until March 31, 2028. A veteran of the organization, Basu has dedicated nearly four decades to the company and has played a pivotal role in its sustained growth and operational excellence.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (formerly Bengal Engineering College, affiliated with Calcutta University), Basu began his journey at ITD Cementation as a Graduate Engineer Trainee in 1986. His progression through the ranks saw him take on increasingly strategic roles, culminating in his appointment as Chief Operating Officer in 2017 and Managing Director in 2019.
With 39 years of experience in engineering, construction, project management, and contracts management, Basu has been instrumental in positioning ITD Cementation as a leader in heavy civil engineering. His deep expertise in maritime structures, business development, and tendering continues to strengthen the company’s foothold in the infrastructure sector. The company’s Board has expressed strong confidence in his continued leadership, citing his domain knowledge and strategic insight as key drivers for the organization’s next phase of growth.
ITD Cementation India Ltd traces its roots back to 1931 as a branch of The Cementation Company Ltd, UK. It has since evolved into a major player in India’s infrastructure landscape, specializing in grouting, drilling, and large-scale civil engineering works. Over its storied history, the company has undergone various ownership and structural transformations, eventually becoming part of Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited in 2005. With a legacy of delivering complex infrastructure projects across India, ITD Cementation is today known for its technical expertise, engineering excellence, and strong leadership in heavy civil construction.
