Santa Ana, California, United States, January 2026 — Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County has appointed Jennifer Medina as its new Chief People and Culture Officer, strengthening its executive leadership as the organization continues to advance its mission of food and nutritional security for all.
In her new role, Jennifer Medina will serve as a strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s people, culture, and workforce strategies in alignment with Second Harvest’s mission, vision, and values. She will oversee workforce development, employee engagement, talent management, and organizational culture, with a focus on building a high-performing, inclusive, and mission-driven workplace.
Prior to joining Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, Jennifer was associated with Charitable Ventures, where she most recently served as Director of People and Culture. In this role, she led the people and culture function, stewarding workplace culture, employee experience, and equitable, mission-aligned people practices in close partnership with the executive team.
Earlier at Charitable Ventures, she held the role of Director of Administration, overseeing both human resources and operations. During this phase of her career, she provided strategic leadership across HR, employee relations, compliance, recruitment, professional development, compensation, facilities, and operational systems, contributing to overall organizational effectiveness.
Jennifer previously served as Director of Human Resources in Santa Ana, California, where she managed end-to-end HR functions and guided organizational culture to support a high-performing environment. Her earlier career includes HR leadership and generalist roles at Silverado, Goodwill of Orange County, and New Directions for Women, building deep expertise across employee relations, compliance, benefits, workforce development, and culture transformation.
With over a decade of experience across nonprofit, healthcare, and community-based organizations, Jennifer Medina brings a strong blend of strategic HR leadership, operational insight, and values-driven culture building to her role as Chief People and Culture Officer.
