Kolkata, West Bengal, India, February 2026 — Kallol Basu has joined ITC Limited as Corporate Chief Information Officer (CIO), taking on a strategic mandate to strengthen the company’s technology foundations while driving value-led, governance-focused digital transformation across corporate functions. In this role, he is responsible for running and transforming IT across various corporate departments of ITC, aligning technology strategy with enterprise-wide priorities.
Prior to joining ITC Limited, Kallol Basu served for about three years as Chief Technology Officer at a leading Indian PSU general insurance company. During this tenure, he led large-scale technology transformation initiatives, focusing on digital roadmap visualization, enterprise architecture design, platform modernization, and governance-led planning. He drove budgeting and strategic planning processes, evaluated emerging technology platforms, and architected high-level enterprise modules to deliver best-in-class business services.
Earlier, he spent over six years at Cognizant, where he held senior leadership roles including Senior Director and Global Solution Architecture Head for India & Middle East and Director & APAC Solutions Leader. In these positions, he advised clients on strategic and digital initiatives across Asia Pacific and the Middle East, acted as an innovation evangelist, and led enterprise architecture for major pursuits. His work spanned consulting, business development, pre-sales strategy, and enablement in emerging technologies such as design thinking, TOGAF, and cloud.
Before Cognizant, Basu was with Accenture for nearly three years as Application Outsourcing Capability Lead and Vice President, where he helped shape global strategies for application services and drove delivery innovation through standardized frameworks and intelligent tooling. He also spent close to a decade at Tata Consultancy Services, including leadership of the Oracle technology practice across APAC and earlier roles as Consultant and Oracle Solutions Architect in the US and Japan. His early career includes roles at Nalco Water, An Ecolab Company, and Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd, where he worked across product marketing, ERP implementation, and manufacturing engineering.
