Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany, January 2026 — Katherine Earl has been promoted to the role of Managing Director at Citi, marking a significant leadership milestone in her global banking career. In her expanded mandate, she will continue to lead strategic growth across Citi’s Trade & Working Capital solutions business in Europe, supporting multinational clients across industrial, mobility and global trade corridors.
In her current leadership journey at Citi, Katherine has steadily progressed through multiple senior trade and working capital leadership roles across Europe. She currently leads the European franchise as Head of Trade & Working Capital Sales – Europe and serves as Global Sector Lead – Industrials and Mobility, overseeing complex multinational client portfolios, cross-border liquidity structures and strategic trade distribution initiatives.
Earlier at Citi, she served as Director, Trade Sales Head – Germany, Austria & BeNeLux and Global Sector Lead – Mobility, strengthening Citi’s leadership position across key European markets and global industry corridors.
Prior to Citi, Katherine spent over twelve years at Standard Chartered Bank, where she held senior leadership roles including Director – Trade Asset Sales & Syndications, Director – Liability & RWA Optimization (Trade), and Director – Liability Products, Systems & Channels across Frankfurt and Singapore. Her work strengthened global trade distribution, liquidity optimization and originate-to-distribute strategies for multinational corporates and financial institutions.
She began her banking career with Deutsche Bank in London as a Business Analyst, building early foundations in banking operations, financial systems and transformation initiatives.
