Caledonia, Michigan, United States, June 2025 – Laurie Bylsma has started a new position as Vice President Human Resources at Viking Group Inc., the global leader in fire protection solutions. Laurie brings over two decades of human resources and business transformation experience to her new role, where she will play a critical part in supporting Viking Group’s commitment to innovation, customer success, and world-class safety standards.
Laurie most recently served as Human Resources Director at Lakeside Surfaces Inc., where she was instrumental in driving a culture shift, spearheading restructuring and cost-cutting initiatives, and improving both employee engagement and benefit offerings. Her partnership with leadership enabled strategic HR initiatives that delivered measurable business results.
Previously, Laurie spent nearly seven years at Yanfeng Automotive Interiors, rising to the role of Executive Director Human Resources for North America. She led all HR functions for headquarters and 24 manufacturing sites across three countries, with a focus on talent development, strategic HR initiatives, plant launches and closures, and DEI leadership. Laurie’s efforts resulted in improved organizational effectiveness, significant cost reductions, and enhanced employee engagement.
Earlier in her career, Laurie held several key HR leadership roles at Johnson Controls, serving as Director Human Resources Operations and Human Resources Manager. She drove performance management, talent strategy, and employee engagement initiatives, supporting both operational excellence and organizational growth.
Laurie also held HR and benefits leadership positions with organizations including Special Olympics, Albertsons Companies, Kforce Inc., Aon (Hewitt Associates), and Lear Corporation. Her broad industry exposure and deep expertise in human resources, recruiting, and performance management have prepared her to deliver lasting impact at Viking Group Inc.
