Mary Jane Jamar Appointed as Chief Human Resources Officer at Wildlife Conservation Society

Bronx, New York, United States, March 2025 – Mary Jane Jamar has taken on a new role as Chief Human Resources Officer at the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS). In this global leadership position, Jamar will spearhead HR strategies, tools, and best practices that align with WCS’s mission to save wildlife and wild places through science-based conservation. She brings with her an impressive track record of driving global people strategies across renowned international organizations.

Jamar will focus on fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture, enhancing talent development, and scaling HR capabilities across WCS’s expansive programs in nearly 60 countries. Her extensive nonprofit experience and strategic approach to organizational design, performance management, DEI, and global HR operations will be instrumental in supporting WCS’s vision and impact.

Prior to joining WCS, Mary Jane Jamar served as Chief Human Resource Officer at Orbis International for over five years, where she transformed the global HR function, introduced equitable compensation structures, and led company-wide DEI and cultural change initiatives, significantly strengthening organizational effectiveness.

Before Orbis, she was an independent Global Human Capital Consultant, delivering people strategy, HR systems, and compensation solutions for international nonprofits across Africa, Asia, and North America. Earlier, she served as Vice President and CHRO at Winrock International, where she led global HR operations and talent strategies in over 30 countries.

Her experience also includes Chief Human Resources Officer at the International Rescue Committee (IRC), where she managed HR delivery for a 25,000-strong workforce across 40 countries, and Vice President for HR at Management Sciences for Health (MSH), overseeing strategy for HR teams in 40 global offices. She began her executive HR career as VP of HR & Facilities at the World Wildlife Fund (WWF-US), leading HR and administrative functions during a time of major organizational expansion.
