SEOUL, South Korea, May 2025 — Hyundai Motor Company has announced key leadership promotions to strengthen global product alignment and enhance manufacturing operations across North America. These strategic appointments highlight Hyundai’s commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and global growth.
Philippe Guerin-Boutaud has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Global Product Management Division, Hyundai Motor Company. In this newly established role, he will oversee the division responsible for driving global sales performance and improving profitability through integrated product leadership. The Global Product Strategy and Planning unit will now report directly to him, and regional product teams will operate under a dual reporting structure.
Prior to this, Guerin-Boutaud served as Senior Vice President, Global Product Directors Office, Hyundai Motor Company. He previously held the role of Executive Vice President of Quality and Total Customer Satisfaction at Renault Group, and his international career spans multiple leadership positions across Europe, Japan, the Americas, and Korea. He holds engineering degrees from École Centrale de Paris and a Master of Science in Mechanical Dynamic Systems Modeling.
Chris Susock has been promoted to Chief Manufacturing Officer, Hyundai Motor North America, a newly created position that consolidates oversight of Hyundai’s U.S. manufacturing operations, including Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA) and Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA). He will lead initiatives to maximize operational synergy, streamline processes, and enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
Susock previously served as President and CEO of HMMA, where he was instrumental in overseeing all manufacturing operations. Since joining Hyundai in 2004, he has held various leadership roles, including Director of Quality, Vice President of Vehicle Production, and Chief Operating Officer. Before Hyundai, he spent 15 years at Ford Motor Company in diverse manufacturing leadership positions.
