Hyderabad, Telangana, India, April 2025 – Praveen Mokkapati has been promoted to Director at nasscom, marking a significant milestone in his four-year journey with the premier trade body for the Indian technology industry. In his new role, Praveen will continue advancing India’s AI ecosystem, nurturing multi-stakeholder collaboration, and driving safe AI adoption across GCCs, startups, enterprises, and governments.
Over the past four years at nasscom, Praveen has led critical initiatives including the Telangana AI Mission (T-AIM), where he worked closely with the Government of Telangana, startups, academia, and investors to build one of India’s most vibrant AI ecosystems. He managed three startup cohorts comprising 140+ AI startups, facilitated public computing infrastructure access for innovators, and played a central role in AI adoption in public departments.
Prior to joining nasscom, Praveen served as Associate Director at the Indian School of Business, where he led SRITNE, the school’s tech center, and was instrumental in tripling the P&L, launching skill development programs, and producing landmark research on AI and the Indian labor market. His work enabled deep collaborations with ministries, corporates, and academia.
Praveen also worked at Anthill Ventures as an Associate Partner, enabling deep-tech commercialization, forging over 50 partnerships, and accelerating 25+ startups. He facilitated corporate innovation for global brands and drove accelerator programs across healthcare, retail, and smart cities.
Earlier in his career, Praveen held leadership roles in CADFEM SEA, Servion Global Solutions, and Wipro Technologies, where he built robust go-to-market strategies, drove B2B marketing, and developed enterprise technology sales across Southeast Asia and India. He also co-founded and scaled CADFEM India, where he served on the board and steered the company to a 40% CAGR growth over seven years.
