During his tenure, he played a key role in shaping HR strategies for workforce development, international mobility, and leadership succession planning. His efforts contributed to building organizational agility and enhancing engagement across the company’s diverse business verticals.

Prior to that, Rakesh spent nearly eleven years with Fluor Corporation, one of the world’s leading engineering and construction firms, where he held multiple leadership positions across India, Malaysia, and the United States. He led the HR function in global and regional capacities, including serving as Human Resources Director in Houston and Head of HR in Kuala Lumpur, driving global talent strategies, executive coaching, regulatory compliance, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. His extensive international experience enabled him to build cross-cultural HR frameworks and align business objectives with people capabilities across multiple geographies.

Earlier in his career, Rakesh worked with Ballarpur Industries Limited (BILT) as Deputy Manager – HR, where he strengthened HR processes around performance management and employee relations. He also served at Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited as Senior Officer – Human Resources, focusing on workforce planning and employee engagement. Rakesh began his professional journey with Kotak Mahindra Bank as a Sales Officer, where he developed his early business and client relationship skills, laying the foundation for his later success in people and organizational management.

At AECOM India, Rakesh will lead initiatives that integrate talent management, workforce learning, and leadership development with business performance goals. His focus will be on driving organizational transformation, enhancing employee experience, and reinforcing AECOM’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. With his strong background in HR consulting and international exposure, Rakesh is well-positioned to strengthen AECOM’s human capital framework and build future-ready teams capable of meeting the company’s evolving global priorities.
