Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, March 2026 – Ramaswamy P has started a new position as Chief Vigilance Officer at IIFL Finance, where he will oversee the organization’s vigilance, ethics, and fraud prevention frameworks while strengthening governance and compliance systems across the company’s nationwide operations.
Prior to joining IIFL Finance, Ramaswamy served as Chief Vigilance Officer at Bandhan Bank for approximately five years. In this role, he led vigilance oversight and fraud prevention initiatives within the banking institution, focusing on strengthening internal controls, improving investigative mechanisms, and reinforcing ethical conduct across the organization.
Before Bandhan Bank, he worked at Equitas Small Finance Bank as Senior Vice President and Head of Fraud Risk Management. During this period, he led the bank’s fraud risk management initiatives, overseeing investigation frameworks, risk control mechanisms, and strategies to detect and prevent financial fraud across banking operations.
Earlier in his career, Ramaswamy served as Deputy General Manager – Forensic Audit at Samsung India Electronics, where he led forensic investigations and fraud detection initiatives. His responsibilities included identifying fraud trends, conducting root-cause analysis, managing complex investigations involving employees and vendors, and promoting ethical practices through training and awareness programs across the organization.
Ramaswamy also spent over eight years at ICICI Bank, where he held the role of Zonal Head – South, Financial Crime Prevention Group. In this position, he led investigations related to banking fraud across multiple product lines and worked closely with law enforcement agencies, including conducting fraud investigation training for police officers and probationary IPS officers at national training institutions. Earlier, he held the role of Area Manager – Risk Control Unit, Fraud Investigations at HDFC Bank, focusing on fraud detection, risk control, and investigative processes across banking operations.
He began his professional journey in marketing and sales roles with organizations including Jaya TV, Vasan Publications Ltd, DSJ Communications Ltd, and Eureka Forbes Ltd, before transitioning into banking risk management and financial crime prevention.
