Wrexham, Wales, United Kingdom, December 2024 – Robert Faulkner has been named Chief of Business and Communications at Wrexham AFC, one of the world’s oldest and most storied professional football clubs. In his new role, Robert will oversee strategic business development, enhance the club’s global communication efforts, and further its vision under the leadership of Hollywood owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.
Prior to joining Wrexham AFC, Robert served as Director of Communications and Marketing at the European Club Association (ECA), where he led communication strategies for Europe’s top football clubs and strengthened the association’s global brand presence.
Before his tenure at ECA, Robert was the Head of Communications at European Athletics, overseeing corporate and sports communications, digital strategies, and media relations.
From 2015 to 2019, Robert held the dual roles of Chief Communications Officer and Chief Marketing Officer at FC Internazionale Milano, leading innovative initiatives such as launching the Inter Media House and expanding the club’s digital footprint in China.
Robert’s early career includes extensive experience with UEFA, where he served for over a decade in various leadership roles, including Head of Media Relations and Corporate PR, and oversaw communications for major events like the UEFA Champions League and UEFA European Championships.
