Gurugram, Haryana, India, November 2025 — Salil Lal has been elected as the President – NHRDN Delhi & NCR Chapter, marking a significant milestone in his distinguished HR career. Currently serving as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, he brings over three decades of experience, credibility, and industry-wide influence to this honorary leadership role. Known for his honesty, humility, and deep accessibility across the HR fraternity, Salil San’s election reflects the trust he commands within India’s HR community.
In his current organisation, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, he has spent close to fourteen years shaping high-impact HR practices. With approximately four years as Chief Human Resources Officer and over a decade as General Manager – Human Resources, he has played a central role in building scalable people systems, strengthening workplace culture, and steering strategic workforce programs across the company’s Gurugram and Manesar locations. His leadership at Maruti has significantly contributed to capability-building, industrial harmony, and long-term talent retention.
Before joining Maruti Suzuki, Salil Lal served as Head – Human Resources at Ingersoll Rand Industrial Technology, where he brought together strong people operations, employee engagement, and organisational development frameworks. His role contributed to strengthening HR governance and simplifying processes for the company’s evolving business landscape. His earlier work at Ingersoll Rand reinforced his expertise in leading HR transformations within manufacturing and engineering environments.
Prior to that, he spent a decade at Caparo Engineering, where he held multiple senior roles including Director (Office of MD & CEO), Executive Director, General Manager – HR, and Plant Head – HR. Across these responsibilities, he led people strategy, HR operations, industrial relations, and HR governance across diverse plants and locations. His work strengthened leadership alignment, organisational discipline, and end-to-end HR processes, shaping Caparo’s growth during a critical phase of business expansion.
His early career at Good Year India and Electrolux Group further sharpened his capabilities in plant HR, workforce management, and performance systems. Combined with his academic foundation—a Post Graduation in PM & IR from XISS Ranchi—Salil San has built a leadership journey grounded in discipline, people-centricity, and a deep understanding of India’s industrial and corporate HR landscape.
