Sarah Marshall Appointed as Chief People Officer at Heidelberg Materials Australia

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, October 2025 – Sarah Marshall has been appointed as the Chief People Officer at Heidelberg Materials Australia. In her new role, she will lead the company’s people strategy, focusing on talent, safety, sustainability, and culture as the organization strengthens its position as a leading supplier of building materials in the country.

Sarah most recently served at Fulton Hogan, where she spent more than six years and rose to Executive General Manager – People, Safety and Sustainability. In this capacity, she managed critical functions spanning People and Culture, Health and Safety, Environment and Sustainability, Marketing, and Communications. She also represented the company as a Board Director of the Australian Constructors Association (ACA), where she chaired the Capability and Capacity Committee, contributing to advancing a sustainable construction industry in Australia.

Before Fulton Hogan, Sarah built a significant tenure at Lendlease, spanning over 13 years in multiple leadership positions. She served as Executive General Manager – Operational Support, leading People and Culture, Safety, Environment and Sustainability, Marketing and Communications, Systems and Quality, and ICT. Prior to this, she was General Manager – Environment, Community and Sustainability, and earlier National Environment and Sustainability Manager. Her journey at Lendlease highlights her impact in building sustainability-driven operations and organizational excellence.

Earlier in her career, Sarah held leadership roles at CPB Contractors, where she managed environment and community relations for landmark projects including the Westlink M7 Project ($1.4B) and the Nextgen Network Project ($820M). She began her professional career with Sinclair Knight Merz, working as a Project Manager and Environmental Scientist, further strengthening her technical expertise in environmental and community engagement.

Beyond her corporate roles, Sarah also contributes her expertise to industry bodies. She has been a Member of Chief Executive Women (CEW) since 2024, and previously served as a Deputy Chair and Board Director of the Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) and as a Board Director of the NSW Architects Registration Board, showcasing her commitment to advancing governance, sustainability, and leadership across sectors.
