Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, June 2025 – Sipho Mabaso has been appointed as the new Head of People at Mr Price Group, a leading omni-channel fashion value retailer in South Africa. In his new role, Sipho will be responsible for driving the Group’s people strategy and organizational culture across its various businesses, contributing to growth and transformation in a highly competitive retail landscape.
Prior to joining Mr Price Group, Sipho Mabaso served as Country HR Business Partner – South Africa at FTI Consulting for over three years. In this role, he led people initiatives across South Africa, offering strategic HR support aligned with business goals, and driving workforce engagement and transformation programs.
Before FTI Consulting, he worked with Givaudan as an HR Manager for nearly four years, where he played a key role in HR operations, talent management, and employee relations within the fragrance and flavor industry, contributing to global HR objectives from the South African region.
Earlier, Sipho held the position of HR Consultant at Transnet SOC Ltd, where he supported various people processes for approximately three years, focusing on organizational design and workforce efficiency in the public transport and logistics sector.
He also gained experience as an HR Business Partner at MultiChoice Group for over a year, strengthening his exposure in the media and entertainment industry. Prior to that, he spent around five years at South African Breweries, beginning as a Human Resource Trainee and later transitioning into the role of HR Business Partner, giving him deep insights into industrial relations and HR operations in the fast-moving consumer goods sector.
In the early stages of his career, he also served briefly as a Part-Time Lecturer at North-West University, contributing to academic development in the field of HR.
