New Delhi, Delhi, India, November 2025 – Outlook Publishing (India) Pvt. Ltd., one of India’s most respected media and publishing houses, has appointed Sonika Shukla as its new Head of Human Resources. In her new role, Sonika will lead HR strategy, talent development, and culture transformation initiatives across the organization’s multiple media verticals, including Outlook, Outlook Business, Outlook Money, and Outlook Traveller. Her leadership will be instrumental in shaping a people-centric culture to support the company’s evolving digital and editorial ambitions.

With more than two decades of HR leadership experience in the Indian media industry, Sonika Shukla brings a deep understanding of talent, culture, and transformation. Prior to joining Outlook Publishing, she served as Head – Human Resources at ThePrint, where she played a pivotal role in scaling the organization’s HR operations and strengthening employee engagement during a period of rapid newsroom expansion. Her initiatives in workforce development, leadership alignment, and performance culture were widely recognized for driving collaboration and innovation in a digital-first media environment.

Before ThePrint, Sonika spent over seven years with The Indian Express, where she rose through the ranks from Senior Manager – HR to General Manager – HR. During her tenure, she was responsible for developing people processes across editorial and business divisions, implementing modern HR systems, and nurturing cross-functional teams across multiple offices. Her contribution was key to enhancing organizational efficiency and retention in one of India’s most storied news brands.

Earlier in her career, Sonika was associated with B.A.G Films & Media Ltd. as Assistant Manager – HR, where she honed her foundational HR expertise in recruitment, employee engagement, and learning initiatives within a dynamic broadcast and production environment. Her journey reflects consistent excellence in aligning people strategy with business goals across some of India’s leading media organizations.
