Greater Boston, Massachusetts, United States, February 2026 — actnano has officially announced the appointment of Sruti Balasubramanian as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Having joined the company in 2017, she has progressed from a core scientist to senior leadership, most recently serving in executive product roles while leading actnano’s European business operations. In her new role, she will drive the company’s technology vision and innovation roadmap, closely aligning product development with evolving customer needs.
Prior to her appointment as CTO, Sruti Balasubramanian spent several years in senior leadership at actnano, including serving as Vice President – Product and earlier as Vice President of Product Development and Director of Product Development. During this period, she played a central role in advancing actnano’s product innovation capabilities and expanding the company’s commercial footprint in Europe, gaining deep customer and market insight alongside her technical leadership.
Earlier in her career, she held engineering and project leadership roles at LiquiGlide, where she worked as Technical Project Manager and Senior Coatings Engineer, contributing to advanced coatings technologies and product development initiatives. She began her professional journey in research as a Graduate Research Assistant at Penn State University, building a strong foundation in chemical engineering and applied materials science.
Sruti Balasubramanian holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University and has completed the Professional Certificate Program in Strategic Technology Roadmapping and Innovation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, strengthening her ability to translate breakthrough science into scalable commercial products.
