New Delhi, Delhi, India, March 2025 – Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has announced the appointment of Sunil Kakkar as an Additional Director and Whole-time Director, designated as Director (Corporate Planning), effective April 1, 2025. The appointment, approved by the Board of Directors on March 26, 2025, underscores MSIL’s focus on strategic leadership and future growth. His tenure is set for three years, concluding on March 31, 2028.
Kakkar has been associated with Maruti Suzuki India Limited for nearly 35 years, contributing to several critical functions across operations and supply chain. Most recently, he served as Senior Executive Officer, where he played a key role in corporate strategy and growth planning initiatives from New Delhi.

Previously, he held the role of Executive Officer, based in Gurugram, where he contributed to operational streamlining and capacity enhancement for three years. Before that, he was Plant Head for MSIL’s Gurgaon Vehicle Plant, overseeing end-to-end plant operations and driving efficiency improvements.
Kakkar’s leadership journey at MSIL also includes tenure as Vice President – Supply Chain and Assistant Vice President – Supply Chain, where he was instrumental in building agile and resilient supply chain networks across the organization. He began his long career at Maruti Suzuki in 1990, rising through the ranks from Senior General Manager.
In addition to his primary responsibilities, Kakkar currently serves as Nominee Director on the boards of Hanon Climate Systems India Pvt. Ltd. and Mark Exhaust Systems Limited, both Maruti Suzuki joint ventures.
