Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, January 2026 — Swaminathan Chandrashekhar has joined Cargill as Director, HR Business Partner and Head of HR, India Capability Center. In this role, he will lead the people and HR agenda for Cargill’s India Capability Center, partnering closely with business leaders to strengthen organizational culture, workforce strategy, and talent development.
In his current position at Cargill, Swaminathan is responsible for driving strategic HR business partnering, shaping people practices aligned to business priorities, and supporting the growth and transformation of the India Capability Center through a strong focus on culture, engagement, and leadership effectiveness.
Prior to joining Cargill, Swaminathan spent over five years with Eli Lilly and Company, where he progressed through multiple leadership roles in human resources. Most recently, he served as Director – HR, following earlier roles as Associate Director Human Resources and Senior Human Resources Manager. During his tenure at Eli Lilly, he worked extensively on HR strategy, employee relations, organizational culture, workforce planning, and change management, supporting complex and evolving business environments.
Earlier in his career, Swaminathan built deep expertise in employee relations and HR business partnering at Infosys, where he held several roles including Manager – Employee Relations, Senior Lead – Employee Relations, and Lead / Senior Associate Lead – Business Partner Human Resources. Across these roles, he managed end-to-end employee lifecycle processes and supported large-scale, diverse workforces.
He has also held HR leadership roles at Citi as Manager Human Resources, where he drove the people agenda for shared services and retail partnership cards businesses, and began his professional journey with an internship at Ma Foi Management Consultants Ltd, gaining early exposure to CRM and recruitment projects in the BFSI sector.
With a career spanning HR business partnering, employee relations, organizational design, and culture transformation across global and Indian organizations, Swaminathan Chandrashekhar’s appointment is expected to further strengthen Cargill’s people-first approach and support the continued evolution of its India Capability Center.
