Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, June 2024 – Umashankkar Khemka has been named Vice President – Head of Institutional Business at Welspun World, stepping into his new role this month. Umashankkar’s extensive experience in sales and business development positions him well to lead Welspun World’s institutional business initiatives.
Umashankkar has been with Welspun World for over twelve years, holding various leadership roles that have significantly contributed to the company’s growth and success. Prior to his current position, he served as Vice President – B2B Sales – Private Label Business (Home Textile) for three years, where he demonstrated his expertise in merchandising, leadership, and the textile industry, driving sales and business strategy for the private label business.
Before that, Umashankkar was the AVP – Head of B2B Sales – Domestic Business for three years and two months. During this period, he was responsible for setting up sales and distribution at a national level and introducing new products to the Indian market.
From April 2015, he served as Senior General Manager for three years and four months, where he played a crucial role in the national setup of sales and distribution and introduced innovative products tailored for the Indian market. As General Manager for three years and one month, Umashankkar successfully established a new segment in the B2B channel, showcasing his ability to innovate and drive business growth.
