Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa, February 2026 — Vatiswa Nthoesane has started a new position as Chief People Officer at the Auditor-General of South Africa, taking on responsibility for leading enterprise people strategy, human capital governance, and workforce effectiveness at one of the country’s most important constitutional institutions supporting democratic accountability.
Vatiswa Nthoesane steps into the Chief People Officer role after serving as Head of People Operations at the Auditor-General of South Africa, where she led hybrid workforce operations and strengthened human capital delivery across business units. In this capacity, she focused on aligning people practices with institutional priorities while enhancing operational efficiency.
Earlier, she spent over a decade at the Auditor-General of South Africa as Senior Manager and Human Capital Business Partner, providing strategic human capital consulting to senior stakeholders. Her work included advising on legislation and policy interpretation, driving workforce planning, managing organizational change, and strengthening performance management, talent development, and employee wellness frameworks.
Prior to that, she served as Human Capital Shared Services Manager at the same institution, overseeing payroll governance, policy implementation, reporting systems, and quality assurance audits. She also founded and led Lumengo Services Employment Agency for approximately six years, delivering recruitment, executive search, and strategic HR advisory services to clients across sectors.
Earlier in her career, Vatiswa held leadership and management roles at South African Airways, the Department of Labour, Old Mutual South Africa, and Woolworths, building deep expertise in HR transformation, operations management, compliance, and organizational administration across both public and private sector environments.
